Authority

Praise YHVH! This is truly the day that the Lord has made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). We are servants of the most high and He made this day. Have you ever stopped to think about that? Let me say that again. We are the servants of the most high and He made this day. We have all authority. We’ve been given all authority by Yeshua. I’ve heard my pastor say this:
That authority was taken away from the enemy and given directly to us. Then it stands to reason that the only amount of authority that the enemy has is what we choose to leave for him.
Let me share a story with you. I had a dear friend in times past and his younger brother went into the military. My buddy tells me of an encounter that his brother had as a military police officer guarding the gate of a base. They would have drills sometimes two or three times a day and his main instruction was that when the alarm sounds no one - NO ONE was to open that gate. It just so happened in the middle of a drill that a very high ranking general pulled up to the gate, escorted by other military personnel.
“Open up the gate” ordered the general.
“No, sir, I’m sorry I can’t do that” replied the MP.
“Excuse me soldier? I said open the gate!”
“Again, I’m sorry General, I cannot do that.”
“Soldier, do you know who I am?!”
“With all due respect, sir, I believe that you have confused your position with my authority. I cannot open the gate.”
The general looked over at his driver and said, “We need more young men like this in the military. Carry on, soldier.” And the general waited patiently. The siren stopped. The drill was over. Then the soldier dutifully opened the gate.
The Prince of the Power of The Air, do you understand that this is one of the names of the enemy and that he has authority over the power of the air? Yeshua has a name also according to Isaiah 9:6. He is the Everlasting Father. And, if there is any one in a good man’s house that has authority, it is the father of the house. Now, this father just handed you all the authority that he has through His son, Yeshua. Believe me, the enemy has a position, but the authority in your life should triumph over the enemy every time. BACK HIM DOWN!!
It matters not what circumstance or situation you are facing right now. Just like the police officer doesn’t need to show his badge. All he needs to do is turn on the lights and you understand exactly what that means. He doesn’t say, “Put your hands up” with all of Charlotte, NC behind me. He just says, “Put your hands up.”
So, you tell the enemy to back off, with authority and with all the power and might that has been entrusted unto you by YHVH, in Yeshua and the power of His Holy Spirit. Know this that if the enemy comes to you one way, when you know who you are in him, in Mashiach, he will flee from you seven ways (Deut 28:7).
I can’t help but wonder if you’re sitting there right now, facing a circumstance that you have no answer for. It was in times like these that David encouraged himself in YHVH. When no one was around to comfort him, console him, or even pity him, he found his strength in the weakness of the moment. I challenge you to rise up and take the authority that has been entrusted to you and experience the victory of YHVH. Blessings and Shalom!
Thank you for this word. It is timely and very important for today. It has Blessed me and I will share this Blessing with others.
Shalom!!
Bro. David, this morning I was meditating on the authority that has been given to us. This was before I read this blog! Halleluyah!! I really liked the story about the soldier, how he was firm, bold and brave in understanding his authority and executing that authority regardless of the rank or position of his fellow soldier (the general) in regards to his responsibility (the gate). Sometimes the enemy can be within our own camp that would try to persuade us to go against what we have been commanded to do. I pray that I will remember this story and stand in the authority given to me. Thank you for this encouragement and edifying the body of Messiah. Blessing unto you. Shalom.
Thank you David,
This blessed me!
This is a pretty important subject to our Heavenly Father, since it's mentioned in both the Old and New Testaments about 71 times. Searching it out can be overwhelming, but we've got you covered. Here is the ultimate guide for the modern family to observe Passover today.

Let us not forget the atrocities of the past, lest we are tempted to repeat them.

Hello Brother David, I have been thinking about what you wrote above and I’m beginning to understand my authority. I have been struggling with this concept for a while now, but your story helped me to better understand who I am and whose I am. Thank you and may YHVH bless you. By the way, please keep the music coming! :-)
