21 Days of Prayer and Fasting - Day 7

Day 7 – Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem

Within the Songs of Ascent, David implores Israel to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and he attaches a blessing to it.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces. For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, ‘Peace be within you.’ Because of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.” Psalms 122:6-9

It is good and proper, especially during this time of fasting and prayer to pray for our brethren in Israel, and for Jews all over the world. That they would quickly turn back their hearts to YHVH and that the revelation of the sacrifice of our Messiah, Yeshua be revealed to them.

For Yeshua said,

“I am the way, the truth and the life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

Yeshua can say this because He and the Father are one (Echad), and He goes on to say,

“…If you had known me, you would have known My Father also…He who has seen Me has seen the Father…”John 14:9…

This relationship between Jesus/Yeshua and the Father can be confusing, but it is clear if you really look at John 14 that Yeshua and the Father are inseparable. You cannot acknowledge and accept the one without the other. Father has esteemed Yeshua and will not accept or acknowledge anyone who rejects His Son.

The Father has always had a heart for Israel and Judah. He loves Israel, He loves Jerusalem…but He loves His Son, Yeshua more, because Yeshua is of Him.

Jerusalem is where Yeshua will return and so therefore, we must pray for Jerusalem and Israel as a whole, that they would be ready when He returns, because this is our Father’s desire.

Suggested Prayer for Developing a Heart like our Father:

Abba, we desire that the desires of Your heart be fulfilled. We love You and Your happiness is important to us.

We know You have a passion for Your people, Israel and Judah! We know that Jerusalem is precious to You and that their choice to not accept Your true Son, Yeshua, is a wall between You and Your first chosen people.

We know You love them and therefore we love them, so we ask that You pour out Your Holy Spirit onto Your set apart land, and especially Your set apart city, Jerusalem, that the people would once again turn their hearts back to You.

We pray that the Jews and all Israelites in our community see the goodness and beauty of Yeshua through us and be provoked to jealousy, humble themselves, repent, and turn their hearts back to You. That Israelites and Jews all over the world would do the same.

Help us be the people that would be the inspiration to provoke the Jews to turn back to You!

In Yeshua’s Name and for His sake! Amen

May your hearts ache for the things that makes YHVH’s heart ache and may He richly bless you with His peace, revelation, and blessings today.
